TGIF! Or maybe not… since many people begin classes next week?! As for me though, I am very excited, as I haven’t been in school for a while and I’m so thrilled to be back to finish up my last semester before going off to a university! I’m telling you this year is just all about big and exciting changes (:
The first thing that came to my mind when thinking of what to post for today’s Friday Favorites is Coats/Jackets. This season, I’ve noticed this item of clothing most, and the huge diversity they come in. It seems as if a lot of people have focused on their outerwear more than what’s underneath; which isn’t necessarily a bad thing since coats are so much fun to shop for, considering the thousands of styles provided for us. I thought I would share with you some of my favorites (:
The first item (starting from the top left) is a Boucle Military Coat from Forever21. The exposed zipper and bold military-style buttons really make you stand out. I love pieces like this because they can complete an entire look, making you not even worry about the rest of your outfit so much (you should still make an attempt to look put together, of course!)
Next I added a classic double-breasted coat (also from F21), but this time, in a bright, bold yellow. I’ve been seeing a lot of color this winter, and I absolutely love it (take a look at my last post)! If you’re afraid of coordinating outfits that include bright colors and/or patterns, try a coat/jacket instead – the look is simple, but that pop of color is truly daring and fun!
Also featured is an adorable and warm puffer coat! This large coat will provide you with extra warmth in the winter and will make people (well… at least me) want to give you lots of bear hugs! This one is from Nine West.
Away from the puffiness but still adding some warmth, I chose a shearling jacket (by Vince). This aviator style jacket is very edgy and the shearling adds some warmth over your fall wardrobe.
To amp up the edge and volume in your wardrobe, try a unique take on a leather jacket. This embellished one from Diesel has been on my wishlist for quite some time now! The laminated/shimmer effect and soft lamb leather gives the edgy style a glamorous feel.
On a day where it’s not too cold, grab a light jacket with a unique design like this asymmetrical one (from F21). The exposed zipper, faux buttons, and tiered sides give the jacket even more depth and edge.
Last but not least, I added a bold red boucle blazer from Forever21. Like I said before, I love striking colors, and this red is a perfect example! Pair it over dark jeans or leather shorts for a night out and you’re all set looking chic and stylish.
What do you think of these coats? Are coats/jackets a main part
of your wardrobe or have you found one that you’ve stuck
with for the past few years? Share your thoughts! ♥
