Nicholas K

I discovered Nicholas K during Fall 2010 Fashion Week and I instantly fell in love with the relaxed, rugged street wear. I’ve always been a huge fan of urban, comfortable, yet stylish, fashion, and Nicholas K’s designs are a perfect example. In today’s show, we saw a palette of multicolored greens, rusts, greys/gray-blues. Playing around with texture, the designer created cozy pieces in black and emerald in addition to the collection’s plaids and parkas. A unique blend of utilitarian and luxe boho was seen in the women’s outerwear, including a semi-long black parka and short wrap jacket trimmed with heaps of Mongolian lamb fur. Another piece I enjoyed was a sirt-shirt – button-down retrofitted into skirts, which could also be worn as tops! I love versatile clothing. Kunz understands proportion and fit in a great way by designing clever and functional elements to her clothing that make them special.
