Three Ways to Wear: PINK!

Happy National Pink Day! What better way to celebrate than joining me and the Betsey ladies at Tyson’s Galleria at our super pink party! In-case you missed my last post with all the exciting details to happen here, continue reading!

TODAY, Betsey Johnson celebrates National Pink Day! Every year on this day, the Betsey ladies (& gents!) celebrate by wearing, eating, drinking, and honoring the color PINK! Featuring Betsey’s limited edition pink merchandise – this year, a lovely metallic silver tote with a heart made out of pink roses and a top to match (pictured below) – and a “National Pink Day” party for our amazing customers!

Bring your pink elephant out of hiding, everyone: show off everything you have that’s pink, from clothing and shoes to hair and jewelry – be super creative!  Go ALL OUT! Hair, makeup, clothing, shoes, accessories, props, ANYTHING PINK!

If you are in the DMV area, join us at Tyson’s Galleria between 6pm-8pm where you can expect the following:

* Pink champagne

* Pink cupcakes

* Pink jellybeans (yum!)

* && other sweet treats!

* 20% off coupons for full price items to everyone who attends – yay!

* Everyone who comes will receive a raffle ticket for an awesome prize to raffle off every 15 minutes (with a big prize at 8pm) – no purchase necessary! If you show up in anything pink (the more creative, the better – pink dog? Pink hair? Pink flamingo lawn ornament? Pink dirndl?) you get two raffle tickets!

* Limited edition tees and totes (pictured on Betsey above!)

* Once we have enough of a flashy pink mob, we will take some fun, quirky photos to send to Betsey to determine which store has the most spirited guests at their party wearing pink. We only get to send 3, so they have to be super lively!

The PRIZE: We are all competing to win a personal appearance by the pink lady herself – Betsey – to our store!! That’s right – to Tyson’s! If you missed her last time she was here, this could be your chance ladies & gents! If we win, we can host an even bigger party and it will all be because of you guys!

To give you some fashionable ideas for the big day and of course in general (although, for this event, feel free to go way above and beyond of course!), I’ve put together three different looks featuring this feminine color! Now, even though pink is deemed as “girly”, it doesn’t mean you have to look like Barbie. I obviously do like the color quite a lot (hence my blog scheme), and I love experimenting with it in a number of different ways: I’ve died my blonde hair with hot pink streaks, discovered lovely ways to wear pink eyeshadow (a la YSL’s Spring ’11 campaign here) without looking like you’ve gotten beat up, and pairing the hue with dark pigments for an edgy look or similar ones to follow the color-block trend of the season! Let’s take a look!

Pretty in Pink #1

Pretty in Pink #1 by abcDanah

In this look, my chosen pink piece is a pair of pastel jeans. Pretty and feminine, pastels are very trendy this season and can be worn at almost any given time. I chose a white top to keep the palette neutral, but picked one with a splash of dark pigment to give the look a boost. Complimenting the pastels with gold accented jewelry, a nude blazer and bow sandals, this entire look is effortless yet very put together.

Pretty in Pink #2: Night Out!

Pretty in Pink #2: Night Out! by abcDanah

On any night out, who doesn’t want to be the center of attention? Whether you’re in the mood for a skirt or dress, these two looks are sure to compliment your body and draw all eyes on you. I love body-con dresses right now – they’re flattering on practically everyone, especially ones with structured lines like the one I chose above. With classic black platform pumps and glitzy jewels to adorn your arms, seriously… who needs a man as eye candy? Look at you!

Pretty in Pink #3: Office

Pretty in Pink #3: Office by abcDanah

At the office, you still want eyes drawn to you, but not for the wrong or inapprorpriate reasons. You should still stick to a classy office label, but nobody said you can’t wear bold pops of color! I love the idea of swapping a classic neutral-hued button-down for a hot piece like this ruffled fuschia sleeveless blouse. Paired with a cropped blazer and nude pumps, the look is sexy yet work appropriate, and will definitely have co-workers mega jealous of your office-chic attire!

Okay ladies & gents, I hope you have a day as bright as pink;
and please, if you’re in the DMV area, stop by Tyson’s Galleria!
You don’t want to miss this event – trust me!
Happy Pink Day!
