One of my favorite shows, Gossip Girl, will be airing its sixth and final season this upcoming October 8th. Aside from the good-looking characters and entertaining drama/storyline, there’s the incredible fashion sense put into each character’s personality that everyone obsesses over, all thanks to GG stylist Eric Daman. To make GG fans like me anticipate the series finale even more, photos of behind-the-scenes footage have been leaking for the past few weeks.
Blake Lively repped Serena van der Woodsen’s signature high-class bohemian vibe in a cobalt blue Marc by Marc Jacobs dress and Christian Louboutin sandals one day, and the next, sported a pair of exotic yellow Pour La Victoire pumps with an equally eye-catching 3.1 Phillip Lip satchel. She’s not the only stylish one, though! Leighton Meester plays sophisticated Queen B, Blair Waldorf, and puts an eccentric, yet glamorous, spin on her Upper East Sider attire with an animal-printed Red Valentino dress and Brian Atwood heels. Blake Lively was spotted on the set of Gossip Girl wearing
this vibrant cobalt blue Marc by Marc Jacobs tie-waist dress ($398). Pops of bold accessories included green and pink drop earrings, bright coral cutout Christian Dior sandals, and a floral-printed satchel. I’m in love with those shoes and that dress looks ridiculously comfortable (while chic!)
Blake hit the streets of NYC in the ultimate Summer-perfect ensemble. The elements – embellishments, cutouts, bright pigments, sheer florals, and studded accents – may seem like a lot but truly came together perfectly. Blake wore an Alice + Olivia orange beaded top, a floral Haute Hippie maxi skirt, and Christian Louboutin turquoise Bollywood peep-toe heels.
Despite it being the final season of GG, there are still a couple of newcomers on set! Sofia Black-D’Elia joins as one of the few new members of the show; and it seems as if her character will showcase a much more menswear-inspired sense of style, unlike Serena’s upscale bohemian style and Blair’s uptown-girl sophistication. Pictured to the right, Sofia sported a loosened neck-tie, leopard-print loafers, and a sleek fedora hat to pull off a feminine version of menswear attire.
Even though these are only snapshots found on Twitter, I’m still excited to see dainty polka dots, statement jewels, ombre effects, and beautiful lace on Blake’s dress. To the right, Leighton was spotted in a quirky-sophisticated
Red Valentino dress ($795) and Brian Atwood Marilyn platform pumps. I love her combination of exotic, yet elegant, prints – this is how animal prints should be worn!
Blake’s Pour La Victoire pumps previously mentioned above go from day-to-night with the help from a mini cocktail dress. I love the vertical striped hem and tricolor chain strap bag – she really knows how to stick to her fashion aesthetic. To the right, Alexa Chung was seen coming on to the set of GG – wonder where she will be popping in!
Michelle Trachtenberg (pictured alongside co-star Penn Badgley aka Dan Humphrey) plays Georgina and she is pictured here taking prints to the next level, mixing a sequin-embellished top with dark tie-dyed leggings and snakeprint Pour La Victoire pumps. Leave it to Georgina to dress in the edgiest, ‘badgirl’ attire – goes along with her character, after all.
Here we have Leighton aka Blair giving us two thumbs up for her outfit (duh!). Copy her look by snagging the tie front flower dress by Jason Wu, Bvlgari Isabella Rossilini Chevron handbag, and a Giada Forte belted cardigan. *sigh* If only we can all look as chic and put together as Blair. (who am I kidding, we can.)
Here’s Chuck (aka Ed Westwick) being… well, Chuck, looking dapper as ever in an array of stylish suits and bowties that truly all men should adopt as a part of their personal style. Seriously. Pretty sure I’ve met less than five guys in my entire life that have a keen sense of (good) personal style… that is sad.
Who else is excited for the season to come but also incredibly sad that it’s all coming to an end? I still can’t believe it! Sure sure, I’ve read the books over and over and we can still see the stars in future films and whatnot, but life without GG is sad! What’s to come next? Nothing will compare.
