I’m always in awe when I come across a designer who has a bridal collection just to die for. There is something so magical and fantastical about wedding dresses [and weddings in general, yes I’m a hopeless romantic obsessed with all things fairytale-like] – it’s as if they all have a mystical little being inside of them, putting you right into their fairytale. I especially love non-traditional gowns, whether adorned with a red sash a la Vera Wang or a pink-hued and embellished with all types of beads and jewels.
Recently, I discovered fashion bridal designer Delphine Manivet, who, before becoming a designer, stated that she never quite found what she was looking for when searching for her own wedding gown, and decided to create her own. Having trained at the prestigious Institut Supérieur de la Mode in Paris and fashion houses including Rochas, it’s no surprise that her personal success led to professional success and the founder and lead designer of her own wedding and evening dress brand. Since its origin in 2004, Delphine Manivet offers a modern interpretation of chic, fearless 1950s and 20s styles.
Take a look at her incredible Summer 2013 collection below – I’m obsessed with the hoop skirts giving off that flirty flair… so cute!
