J Mendel Pre-Fall 2014

It’s not even 2014 yet and I’m already getting excited about Fall trends for next year, with the Pre-Fall 2014 collections being unveiled in the past weeks. I shared Naeem Khan‘s gorgeous gowns this morning and now, another one of my favorite collections is by J Mendel. Mendel is known for long, fluttering evening-wear, but lately he has turned a different direction, focusing on the shorter and the sportier. Call his collection daywear, but it is definitely for the lush and lavish with fancy furs donning most of the looks.

We see an array of fur-trimmed, double-faced cashmere coats in rich tones as well as geometric shifts and biker-style jackets in unique fabrications. A wool houndstooth coat with leather inserts was thrown over a lace and organza top and miniskirt for the edgy chicks while a printed silk dress with pleated lace inserts was topped with a fox scarf for the fancy ladies.
