Rounding up my favorites from the fashions of Pre-Fall 2014 is the Alice + Olivia collection. Sweet, embellished dresses and feminine separates are what Alice + Olivia has built a flourishing business on. For the Pre-Fall 2014 collection, designer Stacey Bendet took her designs in a slightly different direction. We all know the brand’s impeccable party-wear, but their tailoring is not to be ignored!
Bendet paid tribute to men’s slacks with a slimmer rendition on the peg-leg trouser. The flirtation of feminine meets masculine is showcased with a blazer and trenchcoat featuring a sweeping, girly peplum and skirt. There was an emphasis on transitional dressing, not only from summer-to-fall but also day-to-night. Bendet stated that the collection indulges in the NYC lifestyle of the girls who work all day and play all night, by including A-line dresses with plunging backs paired with tailored jackets.
Once again, I’ve fallen in love all over again with Alice + Olivia. Bendet never lets me down!
