"Fashion is about dressing fashionable. Style is more about being yourself" – Oscar de la Renta

In sad news, Oscar de la Renta passed away yesterday at the age of 82, but his beautiful designs and loving, kindred spirit will live on. In more ways than one, de la Renta set the tone for American fashion, dressing First Ladies from Jackie O to celebrities like Taylor Swift. From his early days designing in the 1960s, de la Renta has been known to follow a feminine, dramatic, and powerful model. The flirtatious designs range from polka-dot frocks and big hats to fitted florals and bold faux furs, each demonstrating a flirtatious and sexy tone with the utmost class. Some of his trademarks include striking flamenco ruffles, bell sleeves, tropical prints, and boleros, often topped off with an equally as showstopping hat.

Below are just a few of my favorite designs created by Mr. de la Renta throughout the years.
