Last weekend in San Francisco’s Japantown was the beginning of the Cherry Blossom Festival, and the super fun Japanese-inspired brand, tokidoki, jumped right in on the fun! If you’re not familiar with tokidoki (which means “sometimes” in Japanese), it’s a lifestyle brand created by Italian artist Simone Legno. They specialize in apparel, footwear, accessories, toys, and decor using their iconic characters and art all designed by Legno. The brand’s cult status has even attracted collaborations with Levi’s, Smashbox, Karl Lagerfeld, and more.
The event just so happened to feature one of my favorite tokidoki characters, Donutella, (can you blame me… she loves donuts and we share similar names) who I’m posing with above! I have a few t-shirts from the brand in my wardrobe, but I just needed the Donutella one (it has a cat on it, and you know I’ve mentioned my obsession with cats countless times!) My friend was kind enough to snag the shirt for me, which is featured below along with the others in my collection, as well as a miniature toy of Cactus Friend, DJ Paw Paw (the brand is too cute with naming their characters!).
