Mascara is definitely one of the few beauty products I can’t leave the house without, especially when I don’t have a lot of time to get ready. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on YSL‘s new Le Shock mascara.
I’ve finally unveiled the new look of my blog ♡ I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
Mascara and I have an interesting relationship. I’d say my lashes are naturally at a decent length, but they grow in any direction they please, which can make it quite difficult to apply mascara at times. This is especially the case if the formula is volumizing or lengthening, as I run into the risk of clumpy, spider-like lashes… yuck. Today, I’m here to “shock” you with Yves Saint Laurent‘s Le Shock mascara.
YSL states that the mascara is their most volumizing formula, coating each and every “lash with maximum volume in just one stroke and without clumping.” This is all thanks to the hourglass shaped brush, which allows for more of the special formula to grab a hold of your lashes.
Here are my thoughts.
Does it provide volume? Yes and no. The brush definitely picks up a lot of the mascara’s formula, and it does latch onto your lashes; however, it’s a bit tricky to start at the lash line because of how long the brush is and its tendency to pick up almost a bit too much mascara.
Pros:
- Color is jet black which is something I always look for in a mascara
- Picks up a lot of formula which helps to apply only one coat with great results
- Volumizing and lengthening
- Easy to take off
- Beautiful packaging – that’s always a plus for me!
Cons:
- Can clump especially if you already have long, thick eyelashes
- Not very buildable as it dries pretty quickly
- Difficult to apply to bottom lashes and small lashes towards the inner eye
Final thoughts. I would still recommend this mascara despite a few cons, as it does live up to its claim, providing volume to your lashes. However, just be aware it can be tricky to apply to those with long eyelashes. With that being said, go snag the mascara now!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my blog’s new look, too, thanks to my babe Tanner (go check out his YouTube channel!)
