I’m not really the type of girl who carries a big ol’ purse filled with a million and one things that I may or may not need, unless I know I will be out of my house all day. However, I won’t travel anywhere – near or far – without my makeup bag filled with trusty essentials that I’d definitely feel lost not having with me. Keep reading to find out what I can’t leave the house without!

I like to keep my on-the-go makeup bag as lightweight as possible, while making sure I have all the essentials readily available. For me, this means easily touching up my skin and lips as needed, and always making sure I smell nice, especially in the summertime when we’re all suffering from humidity and heat. Grosssssss. If I won’t be going back home for a while, I may also throw in a retractable eyeliner to amp up or fix my eye makeup. Otherwise, these are typically my favorite products to keep in my makeup bag for easy touchups!

FACE

I recently discovered Mario Badescu‘s facial spray and instantly fell in love. I’m usually not a fan of rosewater, but this scent is so light and refreshing, and truly is the perfect pick-me-up when my skin is feeling a little dry or dull. To set my makeup, and if it’s feeling oily throughout the day, I love using TONYMOLY‘s Cat’s Wink Compact, as well as essence‘s All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder. Both are super lightweight and go on clear, and I love using my retractable kabuki brush with them!

I’ve had the hardest time finding a lip liner that both applies beautifully and looks natural, until coming across the Slim Lip Pencil by NYX. I wear it in “Natural,” as it literally goes great with every look. To make sure my lips are feeling and looking nice and smooth, I reach for Rosebud Perfume’s Salve. I grabbed this on a whim at Sephora last year, while picking up my birthday treat, and have really loved how it hydrates my lips! Speaking of hydration, Neutrogena came out with a Hydrating Lip Shine last year, and I’m officially hooked. I will admit, the applicator is a bit frustrating to get out of the tube, but it’s worth it, as it feels great on my lips and the Radiant Rose shade is beautiful! Do I even need to share my thoughts on cult favorite NYX‘s Butter Gloss?! Creme Brulee is the perfect nude shade for both day and night. Lastly, I received this Lip & Cheek Stain by jane iredale in my Birchbox a few months ago, and I love how it adds a very subtle pink tint to my lips, along with hydration. Perfect for when I have no time to actually do my lips!

FRAGRANCE

1. YSL Black Opium // 2. Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris

I usually wear Marc Jacob‘s Dot perfume when leaving the house, but these are my favorite scents to have in my makeup bag on-the-go. During the day, I love spritzing Catherine Malandrino‘s Style de Paris perfume. It’s a playful, yet sophisticated, fragrance mixed with mandarin, grapefruit, and pear. At night, I reach for YSL‘s Black Opium, a blend of white flowers, vanilla bean, and black coffee. Both are so heavenly!
