After a long day of prepping, the show began with a grand performance by the Glow Girls, followed by an introductory speech from the salon owner, Maria Burnes, and finally, the runway show. The wardrobe provided by REVEL Style is fresh, edgy, and very LA, which comes as no surprise since owner Francesca Tañedo is nothing less than stylish, fashion-savvy and LA-Chic herself. The fashions were perfectly complemented with hairstyles created by the talented artists of Salon deZEN. My hair has never been bigger and filled with so much volume before; just take a look for yourself below! The fact that it took my stylist only 15 minutes with very minimal product is amazing, too. After the show, drinks, raffles and a silent auction were provided to guests by local sponsors. The first fashion show put together by the salon and boutique raised over $3K in support of Bethany House before the event even started. This just shows how involved the DC/VA area is in organizations like these, especially when they tie into fashion shows!
If you’re in the area, I highly recommend both Salon deZEN and REVEL Style, whether you’re looking for a new hairdo or fresh threads, I guarantee that you’ll be more than satisfied! Plus, it helps that the staff at both are very down-to-earth, knowledgeable in their field, and personable. You will definitely be making multiple trips! I already have (:
