Current Skincare Favorites

I feel like I’m constantly on the hunt for my holy-grail skincare products, either because I love trying out new ones, or my skin is always changing. Probably both. However, as of late, I’ve found a few products that have helped calm my skin down, provide a youthful glow, and leave my skin feeling nice and soft.

My skin and I have always had an awkward relationship. Some days, we’re in love, feeling and looking soft, youthful, and awake. Other days, we’re fighting, and my skin gets back at me with a tired/dull look, and a not-so-soft feeling. For the past few months though, I’ve incorporated some products into my skincare routine that have thankfully left me feeling a lot more confident to leave the house makeup free, which in the past has been rare for me. For reference, I have combination skin – oily t-zone and dry cheeks – and the following products are excellent for a variety of skin-types.

Acure Organics Cleanser | Scrub | Argan Oil

3

I discovered Acure Organics‘ line of skincare products on a whim, while browsing Birchbox for a new cleanser. With 4.5 star ratings and thousands upon thousands of reviews on the entire Acure line, I decided to give three of their products a try: Facial Cleansing Gel, Brightening Facial Scrub, and Argan Oil. I am SO happy with all three so far!

Facial Cleansing Gel

Even on days I’m not wearing makeup, I need a cleanser that’s able to wipe away any impurities from the air, along with oil that my lovely skin likes to produce. At the same time, I need it to maintain my skin’s tone and texture, and not suck up its natural moisture. This cleanser has done JUST that and more. Not only does it not dry out my face, it actually infuses it with anti-aging ingredients that result in my skin looking younger, and feeling cleaner. I love using this cleanser in the morning to fully prep my skin for the day, and at night, to help calm it down and wipe away any residue.

Brightening Facial Scrub

I think we can all agree on one thing when it comes to skincare: we all strive for a glowing, bright complexion. Dull skin and clogged pores not only lack that luster, but they also make applying makeup quite difficult. This brightening scrub is able to gently exfoliate, remove any dirt and oil, and help stimulate new cell growth for fresh, radiant-looking skin. This is due to the formula being loaded with argan stem cells and chlorella growth. Are you sold yet?! I use this scrub to wash away heavy makeup, as well as every time I shower.

Argan Oil

Almost everyone I know has mentioned their love for Argan oil at least once and at least for one reason or another. I knew I had to finally give it a try and I’m very happy I did! Straight from the Moroccan tree, Acure’s Argan Oil really truly is a gem for your skin. Packed full of vitamins and proteins, the healing oil is able to repair skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections, including scars and stretch marks. You can also use it to hydrate dry hair and your entire body. For me, I’ve found using this right before bed is best. Liquid gold in a bottle? Yes. Please.

100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream

5

This eye cream has 4 stars and 21,767 reviews on Birchbox. That has to mean something, right?! I received this as a sample last year, and immediately became hooked. I mean, it’s turbo-charged with caffeine from both coffee and green tea. Sign. Me. Up. I naturally have slight puffiness underneath my eyes, and my dark circles will definitely show through if I haven’t had a good-night’s sleep. For those super long and tiresome mornings, I reach for this eye cream. It’s able to provide an instant pickmeup to my sleepy eyes, by reducing the appearance of fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness.

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

4

This is hands down the most excited I’ve ever been about trying a skincare product. I’ve heard tons and tons of beauty vloggers and enthusiasts alike rave about this clay mask and just knew I had to try it out myself. Warning: you will not be able to contain your laughter when this mask is in action. Keep reading to find out why.

The Milky Piggy Carbonated Clay Mask is a powerful pore treatment full of incredible ingredients such as charcoal powder, green tea and pomegranate extracts, and collagen. The carbonation causes the mask to froth up once it’s applied to the skin and oxidizes with the air (hence the previously mentioned laughing that will happen). The bubbles then help exfoliate dead skin cells and unclog pores, while delivering great nutrients deep into the skin. I also like massaging it all into my skin before washing/wiping off for maximum benefits. The result? Pure skin, tighter pores, and oilcontrol that helps fight against future clogging. I love using this after a long weekend of being outside or any time I need to give my skin some extra TLC.

 Jade Roller

2

While the bubble clay mask is the most exciting skincare product to use, this jade roller is the most exciting skincare tool. I was introduced to jade rolling via blogger Dani from Mermaid Waves. Jade is a cleansing stone used in Chinese medicine that helps aid the body’s lymphatic and filtration system to get rid of toxins. Incorporating this fun tool into your daily routine is an excellent way to eliminate puffiness, tone facial muscles, and plump out wrinkles. I love storing mine in the fridge as the cool stone feels even better when rolled against my skin. Use it around your face and neck area to help with lymph drainage and blood flow, and carefully underneath the eyes in an outward motion to help reduce puffiness. I’ve definitely noticed this helping with tired eyes in the morning, and I love how easy it is to use on a daily basis.

What are some of your favorite skincare products? Leave me a comment! I’m always interested in learning about new products I can potentially incorporate into my routine.

  1. I discovered the oil cleanse several years ago and I love it. It works on the premise that skin produces more oil when stripped of its natural oils during the cleansing process. By adding oil to your skin your skin stops overproducing and balances out. I usually use almond or olive oil and during the summer I use coconut. A lot of my skincare comes from my kitchen but I might just have to try the coffee bean eye cream you mentioned!
