Despite growing up in Michigan and living there for 18 years, I never felt like a true Midwestern girl until I moved to Minnesota in 2016. Whether it’s because of that or just a new obsession liking to the style, camo has made its way into my wardrobe and it’s here to stay. Check out the piece I’ve been grabbing again and again from my wardrobe, and what I’m currently craving in the fashion land of camouflage prints.
Camo is one of those prints that can fit right in with just about anyone’s personal style — you can add feminine touches with pinks and faux fur, keep it rugged with loose silhouettes, functional accents and utilitarian detailing, go edgy with dark olives, studs and mesh or add your own twist for a look that’s uniquely yours. However you choose to add it to your wardrobe and style it, it’s a print that mixes in easily with a variety of colors, can be paired with other prints/patterns and can be found in a multitude of clothing and accessories for versatile styling options.
Here I’ve chosen to make camo the finishing touch to my casual outfit: a long-sleeve camo cardigan in an ultra-soft material is perfect for crisp fall days, breezy spring afternoons and cool winter mornings. I love the darker tones of this cardigan, and the length is perfect for pairing with dresses, skirts or jeans. I kept it simple with a solid sweater underneath, tucked into high-waisted black skinny jeans and finished off with a pair of snow boots and a black beanie.
