Christian Siriano & Pink Jams!

It’s official! The fiercest of ’em all will be coming to D.C. (oh how I love living here…) on Friday, October 21st for the annual Pink Rocks the Runway show! If you’re unfamiliar with the event, let me enlighten you! Pink Rocks the Runway is an annual breast cancer awareness fashion event, combining couture fashion and live rock music with an important message. The occasion celebrates and features breast cancer survivors under 40 with a pink couture gown fashion show. This year, designs will be by celebrity FIERCE designer Christian Siriano, who is headlining the event with his entire Spring 2012 collection.

“I am proud to collaborate with Pink Jams! to raise breast cancer awareness for young women in the DC area. Pink Rocks the Runway will be fun and fantastic. I am excited to come home and bring the New York fashion scene with me.” – Christian

In addition, a dozen talented designers will reveal their pink couture creations on the runway. Each one has been paired with a young breast cancer survivor who will show us what they’ve got on the runway! My wonderful manager at Betsey Johnson, Jane Roser, is one of the members of the host committee as well as a pink model – so definitely look out for her!

At the conclusion of the event, Pink Jams! will provide a special grant to the Capital Breast Care Center, who works to provide women in the DC area with mammograms and health screenings, regardless of their ability to pay. This truly is a great event that brings in an important message all while presenting us with awesome music and a beautiful show!
